Car Insurance Claims

Every day, events surrounding the typical car insurance claim -- especially events in the courtroom -- appear to redefine its position as a viable tool for financial compensation. But no matter how far some agencies or even individuals try to stretch it, every car insurance claim is treated fairly in the eyes of a judge. The car insurance claim is not an opportunity to demand special rights or exemptions from an insurance policy. The car insurance claim is not an open window for falsifying information. A car insurance claim is a simple demand for payment in accordance with its insurance policy. Problems with determining the appropriate applications that a car insurance claim has begin the moment that its qualifications are misinterpreted in its insurance policy.

It is therefore important to study how specific types of insurance affect the car insurance claim and how they make it a plausible tool to use in the case of damage or theft. Here are some examples of those specific types:

  1. A bodily-injury liability car insurance claim covers hospital and doctor bills, legal fees, court costs, and loss of wages.
  2. A property-damage liability car insurance claim covers the other car and the possessions in that car and damage to other property such as a house, a telephone pole, or a traffic light.
  3. An uninsured-motorist car insurance claim covers hospital and doctor bills, legal fees, court costs, loss of wages, but it does not cover property damage.
  4. A collision car insurance claim covers the repair or replacement of a car that was driven by its owner (or by someone who had the owner's permission to drive).
  5. A comprehensive car insurance claim covers damage to a car via fire, theft, flood, wind, earthquake, storm, riots, and vandalism.
  6. A medical-payment car insurance claim covers all medial costs in addition to other medical insurance.
  7. A towing car insurance claim covers a dead battery, flat tire, no gas, and an accident despite who or what caused the accident.

Of course each insurance policy is unique and may or may not cover the basic provisions outlined above. Some may offer more or less, however it should now be clear how each car insurance claim and its capabilities is dependant upon the quality of its policy. In any circumstance, no car insurance claim is open to interpretation and it's in the best interest of the policyholder to acknowledge its provisions.
